We Choose to Run

Delighted in our own ways,
We entertain these strange thoughts,
Our minds can only wander so far,
We are held down,
Bound by our own tendencies,
If only we spent more time on our knees
If only we shut our eyes one minute longer
Yet we chose to run rather than stand and fight
Fight these voices that has made us cold,
old, stoned, cloned.
Now, all we are left with is a shadow,
a shadow of who we could have become,
What heights we would have ascended!
If only we chose his His pace over ours
