Temporary Gain, Permanent Loss

In search of the beauty,

They found  the beast,

and it called out to them:

Come, come, follow me  and I will

show you my path, for my path is wide and

paved with gold

You will never have to work for anything, I will give it all  to you.

Then, a lamb, gentle and mild

called unto them quietly,

saying: come, come follow me and I will

show you my path, my path is narrow and marked with suffering

You will never have to work alone, I will be there with you.

Because they did not want to endure suffering, they ran after the beast and submitted themselves

...Little did they know that the narrow road

though marked with suffering would lead

to true  and lasting riches

for the lamb had life in himself

They chose the beast over the lamb,

but little did they know that with the promises of gold from the beast

came a promise to take control of their lives,

to drain their joy daily, and run them to the ground

....until he robbed them of eternity....
